The Student Leadership Team is a group of Sixth Form students who act as ambassadors and role models, working with the teaching and support staff to make Surbiton High the best it can be.
The Head Girl (this year, Talia, Y13) oversees four teams, all with different foci. The Pastoral Team focuses on outreach, PSHE and wellbeing; the Marketing Team focuses on admissions and marketing of the school (they are also in charge of parental Q&As and tours); the Social Team is responsible for adding a touch of fun, organising events such as quizzes, karaoke lunches and prom and the Wider School Team is responsible for forming relationships with students across the school (including the prep schools). There is also a Sports Captain and two deputy captains.
The roles of Head Girl, Deputy Head Girl, Prefects and Sports Captain are highly sought and we have upwards of fifty applicants per year. Each student who applies gets an individual interview with the Sixth Form Team or Head of Sports; a group interview with the Principal; each participates in group creative/organisation activities and those applying for Head Girl gives a speech to members of SLT.
We are proud of our Head Girl Teams, past and present, and the positive relationships they have with staff and students alike.
