WELCOME FROM THE DIRECTOR

The Sixth Form is run by an experienced and knowledgeable Management Team, which includes: Director of Sixth Form, Heads of Year 12 and 13, the Director and Assistant Director of Careers, UCAS Coordinator, Sixth Form Leadership Coach and Academic Mentors.

Every member of the Management Team works alongside the dedicated tutor team to guide and support the students through their transition from GCSE to A-level and prepare them for life beyond school.

We are proud to offer a Sixth Form curriculum which has been developed to allow the individual to achieve at a high level, whilst growing in academic curiosity. Central to this is our aim to make all lessons across all subjects outstanding. Students also have the opportunity to take part in a range of enriching activities outside the taught curriculum, for example, our independent research project and Young Enterprise.

The two years in our Sixth Form will prove to be a memorable, exciting and rewarding time, full of new opportunities and experiences.

Our Co-curricular provision is wide-ranging and of the highest calibre. All students are encouraged to become involved in the co-curricular life of the School, be that through Music, Drama, non-subject-based intellectual pursuits, mentoring or Sport, to name a few examples. Sixth Form students are always encouraged to take on leadership roles so that they can gain vital experience and skills for life beyond school. We have a Head Girl Team of approximately 15 girls and students can also lead on projects, such as Akenkan, or through subject and pastoral mentoring.

Each year, the vast majority of our students, approximately 90%, move on to study at top ten or Russell Group universities. We also have outstanding success with students applying for other higher education or training routes, such as Art School and apprenticeships. Students interested in applying for Oxbridge or Medical, Dental or Vet Schools have separate programmes tailored to their needs to give them every chance of success in these competitive areas. In recent years, we have had a growing number of students successfully applying for undergraduate study abroad, including in the USA, Canada, Poland, Italy, Korea, Japan and Hong Kong.

We always aim to support our students to help them make the right next step. Academic standards are high, with a culture of achievement; our students are encouraged and motivated to take responsibility for their own learning and value the opportunities provided to gain new skills and experiences. We believe students who are happy and challenged will discover that they are capable of much more than they may have ever believed possible.
