Saturday 18 May saw 350 parents, staff and alumni gather in the Gold Cup Suite at Sandown Park Racecourse for the 135th Anniversary Ball.
The evening began with an informal Drinks Reception on the terrace overlooking The Paddock. Michael Underwood took on the role of Master of Ceremonies and worked his magic on keeping order with such a large crowd.
Our Principal, Rebecca Glover, thanked everyone for joining us and highlighted the importance of the work The Green & Silver Club in supporting pupils, parents and staff, past and present. The money raised through sponsorship, proceeds from the auction, the silver tickets and the casino has provided an enormous boost to The Green and Silver Bursary Fund. The fund was set up in 2015 with the purpose of helping those whose financial circumstances prevent them from accessing the benefits of a Surbiton High School education.
The evening was packed full of entertainment from a magician who astounded many of us with an array of card tricks and illusions. Our incoming Head Girl Team did a wonderful job of selling silver tickets, engaging with parents, staff and alumni across the school and after dinner, Michael ran a successful auction before the casino tables and photobooth opened and party-goers danced the night away.
Our thanks to everyone who joined in the evening and helped fundraise. Find out more about The Green and Silver Club here.
