Mr Humphreys led an assembly for Year 10 to share exciting news about an upcoming expedition to Nepal. Surbiton High School, in partnership with True Adventure, is offering pupils in Years 9 to 11 the opportunity to embark on a life-changing two-week expedition during the October half term in 2026. Â
The expedition will include multiple phases, with the central focus on a project with Cold Feet Foundation at the Shree Mahadev School in Kolputar, Nepal. Pupils will help build and open a library, marking the start of a long-term partnership with the school. In addition, they will have the unique opportunity to teach English on a one-to-one basis and volunteer with the children by playing games and participating in activities, contributing directly to the local community. Â
In addition to the project work, pupils will experience the beauty of Nepal through activities such as trekking in the Himalayas and visiting UNESCO World Heritage sites in Kathmandu. Â
True Adventure, a company specialising in educational expeditions, will provide expert guidance to ensure pupils gain valuable life skills, including leadership, cultural awareness, and responsible travel. Pupils will also be encouraged to fundraise for the expedition, fostering a strong sense of responsibility and ownership. Â
This expedition promises to be an unforgettable journey, equipping pupils with transferable skills that will benefit them in School and beyond. Â
