We are thrilled to announce that 14 of our Year 13 students have received offers from Oxford and Cambridge universities.
They have carefully balanced their academic accomplishments whilst continuing to develop themselves beyond their studies; this will stand them in great stead for later life. The breadth of our curriculum, here at Surbiton High School, alongside an unrivalled co-curricular programme allows students to find their niche; this is reflected in the variety of university courses applied for at Oxbridge and elsewhere.
Surbiton High School has secured 26 Oxbridge offers over the last two years, with over 95% of students successfully meeting the conditions of their offers. Offers this year covered a wide range of disciplines, spanning the Sciences, languages, social sciences and humanities.
Matthew Shoults, Principal stated:
“I am delighted for our 14 students who have secured places at Oxford and Cambridge. Their dedication, intellectual curiosity, and hard work are truly inspiring. We are immensely proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing them thrive at two of the world’s most prestigious universities.”
Terry McDermott, Director of Careers & Head of Oxbridge, commented:
“The Oxbridge Programme at Surbiton High School is focused on helping students identify their academic strengths and refine their individual academic focus. This is achieved through bespoke activities designed to pinpoint the best course and institution for each student.
Over the years, obtaining Oxbridge offers has become ever more competitive. Regardless of the outcome of their applications, I am extremely proud of the dedication and resilience of our applicants as they continue to challenge themselves throughout Year 13 whilst remaining rounded and grounded. “
