Netball and Hockey Senior Sports Tour to South Africa

Posted: 6th November 2024

On the 18th of October 2024, Surbiton High School hockey and netball teams embarked on an unforgettable adventure. It was a holiday filled with fun, giggles, and lots of creame soda!

We kicked our journey off by visiting a township called Langa where we played hockey and netball with views of Table Mountain. Throughout our time in South Africa, we tried new experiences such as playing our first-ever hockey game on grass, which was an exciting challenge and playing traditional African instruments, that got everyone singing and dancing!

Going on two safaris was a magical moment, we watched the sun set on the many animals that we encountered such as zebras, elephants, lions, white rhinos and cheetahs.

Seeing the beautiful view of Cape Town from Table Mountain was an incredible experience, it was a moment where we felt so lucky to be able to visit these magnificent places surrounded by our friends. The memories we made in South Africa will stay with us forever, we are very thankful to all the people who made this trip of a lifetime possible.
