Last week, the Friendship Hour group visited Thames View Nursing Home in Thames Ditton to spend some quality time chatting with the residents and “learning about their lives”. We had a wonderful time getting to know them, “I loved talking to the people because they had such interesting stories to tell, and hearing their words of advice was incredibly special”.
“Their personal stories were inspiring and intriguing, and this visit was the highlight of my day”. It was fascinating to find out what it was like being a model in the 50s and also the stories from a former Headteacher. One resident is looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday early next year.
The pupils found the visit “a great experience and look forward to visiting again very soon”.
Surbiton High School has an established relationship with Thames View Nursing Home (formerly known as Home of Compassion) and we look forward to strengthening these ties by regular visits.
