Black History Month Workshop at the Girls’ Prep

Posted: 9th October 2024

The Black History Month Workshop held at Surbiton High Girls’ Prep was a great success! The girls thoroughly enjoyed participating in all the engaging activities, which gave them the opportunity to learn about various Black British individuals who have made significant and lasting contributions to our communities.

These activities not only helped them discover the rich history and impact of these figures but also, inspired deeper thinking and reflection.

One of the highlights of the session was the creation of thought-provoking freeze frames. Through this interactive exercise, the girls were able to visually represent important moments and ideas from the lives of these influential people, sparking meaningful debate and discussion among the group.

This level of engagement was truly fantastic, as it encouraged them to explore complex topics, share different perspectives, and broaden their understanding of Black history and its continued relevance. Overall, it was a powerful learning experience that left the girls feeling inspired and empowered.
