Gymnastics British Championships

Posted: 22nd July 2024

Over a very long 3 days at Telford International Centre, two of our gymnasts were competing in different disciplines at the British Championships – the most prestigious competition of the year in the UK.

Louisa S – Acrobatics (12-18 Mixed Pair)

This is the first time Louisa has competed at this level, and she took it all in her stride. After 2 qualification routines, she was through to the final in 2nd place. Finals day came, and she executed a stunning routine, a great score followed, and she was in 1st place… 2024 British Champion!

Eesha A – Aerobics (Senior Individual & Mixed Pair)

Eesha was competing in two different events, solo & pair, at the Senior (18+) level. The individual came first, and with a high-energy routine, she managed to claim 3rd place and the Bronze medal. In the pairs, her routine was performed to bellowing cheers from the crowd, and she also took the Gold and was crowned 2024 British Champion!

This competition is also a final trial event for GB selection at the forthcoming World Championships. Teams will be announced over the next few weeks. We now need to keep our fingers crossed.

Very well done Louisa & Eesha! The 140th anniversary duck also made an appearance!
