On Thursday 6 June, the Year 6 cricketers made the short journey to Hinchley Wood to compete in the Kingston Borough Cricket Tournament. In the pool stage, the team played two matches facing St Luke’s and Malden Manor primary schools. It was a positive start with the team displaying some confident bowling and batting to win both games, and therefore coming top in their group.
The semi-final was a tough encounter against Holy Cross Prep, with a notable catch in the field from Mia at mid-off. The nerves got the better of them with Holy Cross winning the game to march into the final.
The team dusted themselves off and were straight into the third and fourth play-off against Our Lady Immaculate. They gave a stellar performance to win the game 71 runs to 37 runs, with an impressive catch by Corinna off her own bowling! Well done to the team for bouncing back to come third overall.
Team: Eleanor, Clara, India, Freya, Corinna, Darcey, Isla and Mia.
