Surbiton High Girls’ Prep found there was no time for a rest as the Girls’ Prep PE Team whizzed from finishing the Key Stage 1 Sports Day at Hinchley Wood, to turn their attention to the eagerly awaited Key Stage 2 Sports Day.
The day started overcast but the clouds cleared, and the sun bounced off the track at the Weir Archer Athletics Stadium. The pupils arrived full of excitement and energy, taking in the new venue.
Enthusiasm and determination were high, with every pupil doing their very best in each event. Pupils rose to the occasion, showing courage by pushing themselves out of their comfort zone, and displaying bags of competitiveness, all whilst supporting one another and having fun.
It was wonderful to witness so many pupils step forward to run the 800m race, to pick up extra points for their house. The day ended with a highly contested teacher obstacle race drawing the crowds, with some questionable podium finishes! Congratulations to Caernarvon who lifted the Sports Day trophy, with Arundel narrowly missing out.
Well done to all our pupils! A huge thanks go to all the staff involved, as without them the day could not run. Thank you to parents for showing their support in attending the event and being the cheerleaders. A final thanks to the Parents Association for funding the ice lollies provided at the end of the day.
