In Year 7, we have been looking at the importance of looking after each other and the environment and taking steps to protect our planet during our PSHE and RSE lessons and form time. What better way to put what we’ve learned into practice than taking part in the Great Big School Clean campaign run by Keep Tidy Britain?
With the support of their form tutors, Year 7 pupils went litter picking at Kingston Riverside and Claremont Gardens, dividing into groups to ensure the rubbish could also be recycled. We are pleased to report that the pupils found the activity very enjoyable and meaningful, and demonstrated a positive attitude and determination to make a positive impact in our local community. In total, they collected an impressive 35 bags of rubbish, including unexpected items like a carpet and even a personal wallet!
We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the form teachers and Nicola Howarth for their incredible support of this project. Your dedication and guidance have been invaluable.
