Surbiton High School’s Year 11 pupils have been celebrating their fantastic GCSE results today. These pupils have faced a tumultuous time during their GCSE course, as they studied remotely through lockdowns and adjusted to hybrid learning throughout Year 10 and 11. They undertook their studies with great diligence, commitment and resoluteness and have been justly rewarded through the rigorous testing. A specific mention goes to our pupils who achieved straight 9s in their GCSEs; Madeleine, Caitlin, Tilly, Lizzie, Sian, Ciara, Madeleine, Juliet, Charlotte, Lilac, Izzie, Martha, Alexandra, Olivia, Beth, Chanel, Katarina, Noemie, Sophie, Freya, Lucy, Maddie, Lauren and Hetty.
We are delighted to see 120 pupils continue their studies with us into the Sixth Form with over 80 pupils continuing to study STEM subjects at A-level. Our scholarship and bursary programme is flourishing with over 65 pupils in receipt of a wide range of scholarships including Academic, Art, Dance, Drama, Music, Photography, Science (the Dame Angela Rumbold Scholarship) and Sport including Cricket, Football, Hockey, Netball, Rowing and Tennis.
Surbiton High School’s Principal, Rebecca Glover, commented:
“My heartfelt congratulations go out to this amazing group of pupils, who as with our A-level students, have adapted so proficiently over the course of their studies. We look forward to welcoming so many of this cohort back to the School in September to continue their studies into the Sixth Form, where we can continue to support and guide them through their A-levels and they can flourish as independent learners.”
