Year 7 pupil, Avye recently received the Diana Legacy Award for creating opportunities for young people to explore coding and physical computing by delivering workshops at community events.
Avye is an enterprising pupil; after noticing the gender disparity in these workshops, Avye established ‘Girls Into Coding’. Girls into Coding encourages girls aged 10-14 to undertake STEM learning experiences. Avye has successfully fundraised to gift books and computing kits to the attendees of her Girls Into Coding events.
Avye has won awards for her own robotics projects, and is committed to encouraging more girls to feel inspired and empowered to get involved in tech.
