There are many opportunities during the year for audiences to see the girls appearing ‘on stage’. Right from their Reception years, the youngest girls will become accustomed to standing in front of others to sing and perform. The girls notably develop their self-confidence and performance skills and by the time the girls are in Year 2, they will be taking the main roles in the Infant Christmas production and then later on again in the Summer ‘graduation’ show which marks their passage into Key Stage 2.
Drama lessons are an integral part of the English curriculum and girls in Years 3 and 5 have the opportunity to showcase their learning with evening performances to audiences in the Spring term. The drama highlight of this term, however, has to be the fantastic Year 4 production. A recent musical extravaganza has included 'Shakespeare Rocks!' when singing and acting talents have been given every chance to shine.
The school year draws to a close with the Year 6 production. Before our eldest girls move on to the Senior School, they give us one final reminder of their talents with acting, singing and dancing of the highest calibre. A recent show has been a rousing version of 'Bugsy Malone'.
