This activity is designed to stretch and challenge both Artists and Scientists within their subject matter, both ethically and outside their natural comfort zone. It is specifically for those who are considering a Biological/Medical type degree or go on to study Art beyond A-level.
For the Artists, this activity will open eyes to an alternative source of inspiration and work completed could be used to contribute to a portfolio/sketch book.
For the Scientists, this activity will help improve observation skills and will encourage pupils to look more carefully at the specimens. Artwork will also be a good way to improve dexterity as Medical courses like to see this sort of training in evidence.
All participants need to be aware that animals and parts of animals will be dissected, so those pupils who have ethical or other issues with this may not wish to take part.
We would expect that any girls who sign up to this activity will commit to participation every Monday for a full term.
