Behind the elegant façade of our Victorian building, lies a school 'brimming with energy and joie de vivre'.
Surbiton High Boys’ Preparatory School is a vibrant and successful Independent School for boys aged from four to eleven. Our pupils have opportunities for personal development, leadership and achievement and are challenged to do their very best. We have a superb record of academic achievement, but this is by no means the only measure of our success. We are educating boys to become well-rounded individuals who have a great sense of determination and self-belief, as well as being unique characters who make their impression on the world with confidence and certainty.
"The Best in Everyone" is at the forefront of the teaching and learning in the School and is undeniably what underpins all that is Surbiton High Boys’ Preparatory School. The staff inspire and encourage each individual pupil, enabling them to fulfil their potential.
The learning experiences prepare the boys well for their futures and take advantage of their natural curiosities and desires to explore.
We encourage the boys to think creatively and critically, taking ownership of their learning from an early age. We value the importance of having an opinion that can be articulated and explained.
Our lessons are interactive and practical, with an emphasis on teamwork, fun and skills development. We promote lateral thinking, independence and responsibility in all areas of school life and beyond, allowing our boys opportunities to flourish as individuals. Our pupils have a spirit of pride and ownership in their school community. We have excellent standards of discipline and a powerful sense of mutual respect.
Our comprehensive pastoral care system ensures a strong foundation of support, guidance and trust for everybody. We provide personal attention for all, because we know and value our boys as individuals with distinctive talents.
