Music

“A school without music is a school without a soul” – happily this quote could never be said to apply to Surbiton High School! Music is a vital part of life at Surbiton, and the thriving Music Department aims to encourage and inspire each girl to participate fully both in class Music lessons and in the many and varied opportunities that are offered beyond the classroom to pupils in all years.

These include individual instrumental and singing lessons, choirs, orchestra and other instrumental ensembles, trips (recently to see Wicked and West Side Story) and workshops (recently on Cuban music and Indian raga), as well as concerts, recitals and competitions.
