There is a natural progression to the Senior School for all pupils at the Girls' Preparatory School. A number of pupils do choose to sit the entrance examination in order to apply for a scholarship and we are delighted that several of our girls are awarded academic, art, music, drama and sporting scholarships to the Senior School – we are very proud of this achievement. There are special scholarship sessions for Mathematics and English introduced in Years 5 and 6 to the girls preparing for the exam and they are also coached in interview techniques.
In both curriculum and pastoral matters, the girls are well prepared by the Girls' Preparatory School for Senior School life. By the time the girls leave Year 6 they are competent and confident young ladies, well-equipped with the required skills and attributes for the experiences of the Senior School. Our girls are not required to sit the entrance examination as they naturally progress to Year 7. The Senior School environment, by this time, is a very familiar one, as the girls in Years 5 and 6 have many opportunities to visit and experience some of what it has to offer. Recent experiences have included attending the Inter-House Public Speaking competition, taster lessons, Maths enrichment and a special Girls' Preparatory School Open Morning.
